VisionMOS announces availability of micro Digital Video
subsystem mDVR2
VisionMOS International Inc. announces the availability of its latest
standard video product the mDVR2. The system improves image quality and
resolution of recording from a standard video stream, reduces footprint
and power, and maintains the advanced control features of our best-selling
mDVR. Sample quantities are available now with production in Q4 2010.
Mesa, Arizona – October 15, 2010 –
VisionMOS is now sampling our latest single board micro digital video
recorder system, the mDVR2 (VM-A008). This highly integrated system is
designed to record from either digital or analog video sources, store them
to on-board media, and enable playback. The advancements on the platform
include a reduction in size and power from our original design, while
maintaining the standard connections for legacy designs. Advancements in
the codec and image quality now offer up to D1 (720 x 480 pixel)
resolution. Extensive controls allow for easy integration to existing
display and camera designs.
The mDVR2 represents the latest in embeddable
micro digital recorders through our collaboration with Zoran. It is one of
the world’s smallest systems of its kind, and offers a unique capability
of completely machine controlled operation. Video storage is done through
an advanced H.264 codec, and up to 32 GB on-board micro SD card. Available
interfaces also include USB 2.0, video output with on-screen overlays,
real-time clock and button interfaces for stand alone operations.
The mDVR2 is optimized for small size and power making it ideal for
portable, miniature and concealed video systems. It is extremely
lightweight (< 22g) and can operate on a single power supply or battery.
Applications include advanced optical systems like digital binoculars,
smart displays, sporting goods, point-of-view / wearable camera systems,
and security recorders.
