Q)  I have a custom application, can VisionMOS modify standard products? 

A)  Yes.  All VisionMOS products are built with modifications in mind.  There are generally multiple port, communication, software and control options already.  In addition, we often perform new / unique engineering functions that are specific to customers.

 

Q)  I don’t have a full specification, but have a good idea.  How do we proceed? 

A)  We can start with an NDA and a review of what you are looking for.  If it is the consumer electronics area, we often have experience with something similar and may even have an approach already.  From there, VisionMOS is able to create a specification that we can both agree on, and fill in the areas that are not clear from the original concept. 

 

Q)  Does VisionMOS accept firm fixed price contracts? 

A)  Yes, if the specification is clear and bound we can easily bid on a fixed effort.

 

Q)  I have an engineering team, but need a new imaging function.  How can I get the essential help I need to my team? 

A)  VisionMOS regularly works with outside engineering teams.  This could mean that we provide essential skills that work on just an area of your project, or we can lead the part of the your team to integrate specific functions.  It is rare however to contract the labor directly on anything other than a very temporary basis.

 

Q)  Do you offer a Zoran COACH^TM development kit? 

A)  Yes, the application specific hardware for camera, media player and video recording functions is available in the form of standard products.  This can also be modified by our team or yours, depending on our mutual development path.  However, per agreement with Zoran, VisionMOS can only provide software code (even if modified) in binary executable form.

 

Q)  I want to upgrade an existing electronic product, but don’t have access to the design.  How can VisionMOS help? 

A)  VisionMOS can perform reverse engineering on your product to attempt to match it exactly, or we can look at it from a features and functions viewpoint and create a new specification. Either way, the result is a new set of goals and we have the ability to create your new system with features, controls and mechanical interfaces as the existing product.

 

Q)  Does VisionMOS accept corporate purchase orders? 

A)  Yes, for qualified companies VisionMOS gladly accepts a PO or letter of credit.

 

Q)  What is the delivery time on VisionMOS standard products? 

A)  Many products are in production and small quantities can be available in 4 weeks or less.  In production quantities, typical delivery cycles are started 6-10 weeks in advance.

 

Q)  I have a new turn-key design need, how long in general does it take to get a functional prototype? 

A)  This varies significantly by design, but it is common that once a specification is done a single board system can be done within a 8-16 week time frame. 

 

Q)  I have a need for expert help, does VisionMOS accept time and material contracts? 

A) Yes, many of our customer interactions are done with billing on a per-monthly basis. This enables our customers the best mix of expert engineering capability without incurring additional costs for small changes, or tracking individual hours or tasks. We also may provide hourly consulting depending on a project and customer needs.
