The VisionMOS team has led the way in creating advanced consumer portable electronics. An example of this development is the Personal Media Player (PMP) device. The PMP enables playback of audio, video and still image media to either internal display and speaker or external interfaces like headphones and television.

The PMP player development consists of detailed development of the board and subsystem electronics, industrial design artwork and tooling. Significant software developments that incorporate drivers, media CODECs and GUI were also led by the team. The system was based on a highly integrated multi-processor ASIC that provided the core capability for the system based on Tensilica architecture. The finished product from the team was a production ready consumer platform that improves on both industry performance and cost goals.
