Hardware Development
Detailed Specifications for each hardware block are generated prior to the design. This is a reviewed document that will get reviewed and signed off typically by both the customer and the engineering team.

The specification brings forward the system partitioning and requirements elements of the previous step. These functions are made more tangible by adding the following:
- Major component selection
- Input / output connections
- Architectural block diagrams
- Power requirements
- Functional requirements
- Physical and Environmental requirements
Detailed electrical schematics are completed based on the detailed specification. The schematics are validated, and the bill of materials and netlist are generated automatically. All VisionMOS design work is performed with cost and power efficiency in mind. Schematics are typically done in the Orcad tool set, but may also be done in one of several others available.
A strict review process of the schematic and its output netlist is performed as part of the process to ensure quality.

Multi-layer printed circuit layout is completed based on the specification and the schematic netlist. We have years of layout experience, and extensive use of the latest technologies including very small footprint devices and micro BGA. Typical printed circuit layouts are done with volume manufacturing in mind. VisionMOS has a very tightly coupled design process, which means that the layout can be completed in rapid succession with the schematic design.
Layout Gerber files are generated from this process, and are ready for photo tooling. We have many years of experience operating with different printed manufacturing design guidelines. We can target a specific manufacturing process, or create one based on easily implementable industry standards.
