Tooling, Mask & Artwork

Solder Paste Stencils used in the assembly process of Printed Circuit Boards

VisionMOS supports development of high and low volume assembly. In higher volume assembly we create solder paste stencils and pick and place maps to enable our volume assembly capability. We have a significant number of long term relationships that can fabricate the masks and perform the assembly targeted at both cost and volume. VisionMOS also supports lower volume assembly through prototype level solder masks and hand assembly of circuit components at the customer option.

Photo plots used in the manufacturing process of Printed Circuit Boards

VisionMOS tooling includes high and low volume printed circuit tooling, including photo and metal masks. These tools are used as part of the fabrication process, and can be provided directly to end manufacturers or supplied to the customer in their own fabrication process. VisionMOS has a number of long term relationships that can provide turnkey mask and fabrication services that can support builds at a variety of cost and volume levels.

Plastic Injection Tooling

The VisionMOS team is also capable of developing high volume plastic injection mold tooling. This tooling is targeted at low cost manufacturing. Tooling is done as a custom process from original 3D CAD artwork, and can be manufactured at a modest cost. This tooling is typically created for specific high volume manufacturing machines, and VisionMOS has long term relationships with fabrication services that can provide this turnkey capability.

Artwork used in Ink Silk Screens for Housings, CD's, Decals and Marketing Material

Part of the completed product is the finishing details. VisionMOS has the capability to provide silk screen and other finish tooling to meet the end goals of the customer product look. Examples of this might include custom plastic covers, logos, or functional indicators on the device itself. VisionMOS has long standing relationships with a number of providers that enable this capability to be offered as a turnkey service.

Test and Burn-In Fixturing

VisionMOS capability extends to device, board or system level testing and burn- in. We are able to provide turnkey fixtures including test equipment load boards, burn-in boards and special test equipment to meet the customer needs. Special test equipment might be specified by the customer, or provided through our long term relationships as part of a turnkey service.

Resin Casting for Small Volume

A quick turn medium volume fabrication option is a resin casting of the industrial design. This capability extends beyond the SLA prototype to enable moderate volume at significantly reduced cost. VisionMOS can provide this capability as a turnkey service as part of a modest volume system prototype, or simply when a number of housings are needed smaller than a production volume (25-250 pieces).
